thats the way all insurance works for everything except Homes. You can get actual cash value on homes, so if you have a 2000 sq ft home that you bought for 100k then they will spend what ever it takes up too the limit to rebuild you a new 2000 sq ft home. Which might cost two to three times the amount you paid for it orginally, now that's provided that it's within the limits of the policy.

Need to try and find out who the insurance company was and who they used for salvage or you could look into what boat salvage yard are around nortwest nautiques to locate the boat.

              Dragon88:

Would you mind letting me know the name of your insurance company and even a contact name and number. I would think I could take it from there. Maybe even the VIN # would be useful. I would hate to see a boat with such minimal damage be parted.

You guys can speculate all you want. That's fine with me, but if you want to speculate and get angry about a CC owner turned Bu please start a new thread. If possible please keep the topic on subject. The subject is not why I went away from CC but thanking the helpful members...

Jeff, anytime, just drop me a line when you end up in Oregon.

DavidF, the boat is already spoken for to my knowledge. Sorry.
                How about \"Chales\"?

Then why are you trying to BS everyone as to why there's a Malibu at the dock?

typical adolesent..... thread's always take a different turn than what get's started and it wasn't very smart to bash nautique's to a bunch of nautique owners.

Hook DavidF up with the info and let him find out if it is indeed spoken for.

If it is already spoken for then we haven't got the whole story unless that is they took the check minus salvage value, kept the boat and then sold it to someone else. The insurance company isn't going to hold it for anyone, they are going to sell for salvage value and dispose of just like any other totaled vehicle. It's at some junk yard now.

Over the years I have read things that Dragon has posted that didn't exactly thrill me, but recently he has taken a much kinder position on many posts. That's when I started to respect him. I don' t like any of the hostility that gets posted here and while I'm all in favor of the first amendment, I see no purpose to it.

I fully understand his reservation not to post the pictures at first. The fact that he is doing so now speaks to his respect to members on this site. The thankyou's given were not necessary but were touching and appropriate in context.

Dragon, it's kind of you to make a post explaining why you're not going to be around much in the future. I recall a post wondering what happened to Tryan (I hope I got his name right). Furthermore, I'm sure that Jeff and Luke as well as most members present would be happy if you continued to actively post on this site. Owning a CC is not prerequisite to participation, but I think showing respect should be.

If we don't hear from you in the future, take care and know that there is no shame in owning a Malibu.

                                I agree with redelf75

Even if posters feel that they are only "livening up the place"...or giving a "jab", "joke" or "yanking your chain" etc that is not the way it is coming across in an online forum.

As for Dragon, continue to post and thanks for posting the pictures. I'd like to hear your Malibu/CC review after you've had it for a couple of months.
