    230 skiing

We are looking to upgrade our 19 year old Nautique.
We primarily ski and surf now. Gave up boarding after too many injuries. The kids are starting to get into everything.

I am trying to figure out what boat to buy.
My gut and desire says GS22, but my wallet does not.

I have found a very clean, gently used 230 for 1/2 the cost of the GS I am looking at.

I am wondering how the 230 skis? I am by no means running the course at 22 off, but I do like to get after it. My wife skis gently. Is the 230 wake really tough to ski?
I grew up skiing behind an '83 Ski, that thing had a huge wake.

    Thanks

Sorry but I don’t have any experience with the 230 so I’m not of any help there but I do have a lot of experience with the 210. We primarily surf and ski and the 210 would be a great option if the reviews on the 230 don’t come back positive. I run 15 off at 34mph and the 210 isn’t bad (way better than the gs in my opinion). I just upgraded from a 2012 to the 2018 so we”ll see how it compares as the 2018 is a little heavier and the hull was tweaked. Obviously the best thing to do is ski for yourself if that is an option. Good luck.

Asking for a surf boat that slaloms is like asking for a sports car that's also good at towing.

Have you considered two boats? If a GS is in your budget, two boats are definitely within budget. 10k will get you a great ski boat.

Sport nautique. I ski into 28 and 32 off when on a course and surf with one far sac. Full ballast and a nauticurl wake maker. Mine is a 16. Love it

230 is survival sking . I have a 210 and as amb said it isn't a bad ski wake above 30 mph . I went with 2 boats the 210 and a older comp ski boat.

I owned a 2012 SANTE 230 until last year. I would NOT recommend it for skiing. I think Nautiquehunter said it best.. "Survival skiing". At higher speeds the wake flattens out a bit but if you need to go slower with kids I don't think you would be happy.

Now for surfing and tubing my kids loved it. I could send those tubes into lower earth orbit with surprising control.

More like riding a slalom and hanging on.
