    2016 230 ballast under seats

Has anyone put sacs under the rear port and starboard seats? The proballast bags that I just removed seem to fit well. Wondering if this weight will make a difference, even if they don't fill all the way.

If we have a small crew, I put a 400 pound bag on the floor skewed towards the port side. Most of our crew is regular foot. This makes a huge difference in the overall wake.

Cool that's good to know. Now I need to figure out how I'll plumb them in.

Here's a pic of the bag under the seat. Can't get 400 lbs out if it, but I'm guessing about 250. Is there any reason I couldn't plumb it in series with the rear locker bag?

I know it would be more $, but for space consideration and ability to move weight around easily as needed why not a few Lead Wake 50lb bags....just a thought.

I would be careful plumbing them in series. I might be wrong but as the 400 lb bag starts to fill under the seat, if it can't spread out side to side, it will start pushing up until the rear locker is full which would bulge the seat upward.

This would be ideal, but I want to keep static weight down because we trailer exclusively.

Indeed that's something to consider, and we would need to monitor the fill level. If we end up using the bags a lot, I could see installing custom size bags for next season.

I'm doing the same thing as you but I haven't received my replacement sacs yet so I haven't pulled the 400lb sacs out. Could you purchase a Tsunami pump and attachments for the 400 lb sacs?

^^ I thought about that too, and it would give me the ability to put the bags anywhere. There are pros and cons with everything.

Edit: I just talked to Wakemakers and they don't recommend plumbing bags in series because the second bag will likely not drain properly. Makes sense now that I think about it. And I think plumbing in parallel is more effort than it's worth in this case.
