Has Nautique ever produced a boat similar to the MasterCraft CSX? If I lived anywhere near the saltwater I think I would definitely want one. My uncle has one and we fish in the morning Surf and wakeboard during the day. Just curious if Nautique ever thought of manufacturing a similar type boat?

Closest thing they ever produced was the Fish Nautique (and they're awesome boats!). Not at all a wakeboarding/surfing/skiing boat, but a very fun center console fishing boat. I have owned three, and the one I still own is a super-rare twin engine. They only made three of those.

I think the CSX is a great concept as well, would be nice to see Nautique's version

The CSX must have not been a good seller for MC because it only stayed in the line up for a couple years IRCC.

I wondered the same thing but I think MasterCraft produced the boat in 2005 and 2006. What happened to the economy in the next few years? I looked on OI for this boat and none are for sale. I just think was introduced at the wrong time.

The XStar didn't share a hull with anything in that generation, and none of the CSX's were really a "poor mans" anything. They were a purpose built boat, and had their own specially designed hulls for intercoastal waters.

Now, that said.......after the launch of the CSX 220 in 08, MC and a lot of owners figured out that it put out an awesome wakeboard wake, with minimal ballast. Because of this, MC used that lower hull design for the X25, which was launched in 2010. (Or at least, that is the way the story goes)

I'm guessing you are thinking of the fact that the CSX 220 and X25 shared their wetted surface. It wasn't the XStar. The CSX 265 didn't share any design with anything, and is extremely sought after. There is always a few people looking for those on TT.

Ya, I am a fan of both Nautique and MC.
They were a niche boat, the recession hit, and then they started building Hydra-Sport boats anyway...... and the last few years, they have been at capacity, like most other wakeboat manufacturers.

They were definitely popular, but I don’t think they were popular enough to start building while they are already at capacity. Plus, they were different enough, that they required their own dedicated assembly line, and I can imagine that would be a giant PITA with being so busy right now.
