How Old 210 wake changes with weight?

I have 2002 210 with 800lbs in back 600 in locker current set up. How wake changes with extra weight? Would like to change for bigger bags in the back for sumo 650s. Cant go for 750s because I have an extra battery in locker! Is it worth upgrading? Thanx

ALWAYS worth upgrading as with more ballast you will inevitably get a better wave. Adding more to rear may require some weight in front/center so just keep that in mind

I think Wakmakers has a 10% off sale this weekend too. If you plan on ordering through them, I'd do it this weekend

I guess front weight would help for sure. Thanx.

IÂ’ve got the sumo 650s in rear and fill them to probably 500-550 in each bag. A 380 in center ski locker. 150 in Leadwake under seats in front and a 30lb anchor. 200 in Lead wake under rear seats and 150 in lead that I keep handy on the floor to move around as needed to compensate for people in boat. With 3 or 4 people in the boat, IÂ’m not sure that boat can throw anymore of a better wake. That seems to be the sweet spot. And thatÂ’s with a 1616 prop, which made a significant difference in getting on plane, holding speed, and maybe even the shape of wake.

Everything you can do to get weight in the bow will benefit you in the long run. 60:40 stern to bow ratio is about perfect on that hull. I have the stock 330 belly tank piggybacked to 500 bow sac and two 750s in the rear. Weighted down with 1-2 people in the boat and its about as perfect a wakeboarding wake as you can ask for. I pretty much always run the boat with the belly and bow sac full, gives me extra prop protection on my shallow lake and its the only thing I can do to make the wake somewhat manageable for kids and beginners. Sounds like most people are running more of a 70:30 ratio for surfing but extra bow weight will add some length to you're pocket.

Thank you all, I run 600 lbs in the center locker and 2x400 in the back plus few people around and also running 1578 prop. Also having full tank of gas helps too.

Anybody using a wake-shaper of any kind?

Man that brings back old memories, I had a few of the old style 210s and we used to slam the crap out of them!! Unlike the newer boats the wave only gets bigger the more weight you add to them. I did the ultimate automated ballast install in a 02 I had, I ripped the rear hard tanks out and replaced with 750lb sacs, I plumbed them in with Johnson reversible pumps. Under the bow seats I threw in a 200lb ish bag under each side ( they were the xstar bow bags), ran these off there own aerator pump sharing a thru hull for filling, and draining, if my memory serves me correct that boat had a factory center hard tank. All of this was plumbed and running off 5 switches. We used to manually fill an extra 400 lb on the surf side seat or for goofy it went perfect on the floor right behind the throttle console ( I cut mine down to shape of the 03 so the bag could slide more forward)

We leaned the crap out of it only filling surf side and everyone sat on the surf side, and again if memory serves me right that 02 had the blower vent on the back unlike other years where we had to stuff the blower vents to prevent water intrusion lol.

My wife doesn't miss those days at all the hard lean would scare the crap out of her. haha

Those were some of the best memories I ever had though.

                  I had an 01, 02 , 03, 05, 07 (newer hull)

When adding ballast, the wake will definitely change. Bow weight is also needed. Are we talking boarding or surfing? 650’s will be sufficient for boarding but a little light for surfing. I would move the battery and go 750’s. There is no reason 750’s won’t fit. I had them in my 98’ before I moved to WM 910’s. IMO, it’s always better to have more weight capabilities and not use it than to not have enough and need it.
