You usually hear about one of these types deaths per year, maybe once every couple of years. Rare but can happen and totally avoidable. That said the dealer story in the original post is BS

Thanks for those references Bevostein, I was hoping for a reference for "thats why the platforms are sealed now". I don't understand how that would help prevent CO poisoning. I think if the boats not moving the CO will just bubble up from underneath and accumulate at the transom regardless of swim platform. Fresh Air Exhaust (FAE) works when boat moving from my understanding.

The guy who owns that boat was on the MC forum (& others) telling the story. Absolutely terrible. I agree though, it's really hard to imagine that happening out in the open air, and impossible to imagine with surf pipe.

If MarineMax is losing Nautique, who's picking it up in GA and SC?

Water Sports Central in Buford is losing MC and picking up Nautique. MarineMax in Greenville, SC will still have Nautique.

It can happen if someone is sitting on the platform and the boat is not moving or moving slowly with the engine on. Stop the engine when people are in the area and the problem is solved. It is similar to the dust that accumulates on the rear of an SUV, there is a natural pocket of trapped air that accumulates at the transom of the boat.
