    Insurance Coverage

    Purchased my first Nautique today.
    2007 Super Air Team 210
    I’m trying to get insurance.
    Someone recommended ski safe
I got a quote but wondering what types of coverage I need and how much coverage.
Any thoughts to help me get the best policy?

SkiSafe is an excellent company and understands inboard tow boats, it's there specialty. I did pricing comparisons this spring for our club boats and they were the best value. Club owns a couple of older utility flat bottom bass boats as well and the premiums for those were higher. SkiSafe told me the claim history on fishing boats in general is higher than tow boats which in turn causes their premiums to be higher.

Individual coverage amounts are your choice, I always go for higher liability limits.

Don't under value your trailer, they are more expensive to replace than you might think.

Make sure it is a "declared value" policy, that way there are no surprises in the unfortunate event you need your coverage.

Congrats on the new purchase, great boat, how about some pics?

I will second SkiSafe coverage. I just moved from Progressive to them last month.

            SkiSafe is great...
Do stated value policy. I would say you will want around $40k for the boat (chose amount based on what you have and what it would take to fully replace the boat and all options) and $5k for the trailer....cause you will not likely find one used
You can also either insure for 12months a year...or have a layup period (wont be covered during that period on the water unless you call them first...they specify which months are the layup, or you may be able to specify, not sure on that part).
            You can choose deductible
Add freeze coverage (smart to have)
Up your liability amount if you think that is something you need....think it comes with 300k
Add towing coverage (very smart)...covers boat if you break down on water OR tow vehicle and boat if you break down when towing. Basically you pay to have done whatever you need and then submit the receipts and they re-imburse you.

All still very reasonable IMO and less than other places I quoted to boot....I added everything and pay $588 for my boat....12 month policy with no layup since I can boat all year round here if I choose too (zero claims history)

              Ski Safe it is....
I was very impressed with their customer service and saved 3oo over progressive with same coverage, other than it being on land in the winter months.
              Thank you all so much

Discount was added when I called back. SkiSafe customer service is one of the best I have experienced.
