We are on #4 with Nautique and only issue we had on any was a LINC screen that went bad and was replaced in a day under warranty.

I would just keep in mind no matter what brand of motor vehicle you buy, there is always going to be the possibility for issues. What makes good versus bad brands and dealers is how they recover from said issues. I will have a different approach to my response if I read this in a week and Nautique is not returning calls, not standing behind their product, etc.

It’s clear you are very angry at the situation, but before you completely lose your crap at least give them a chance to rectify the issue and make it right, just my opinion.

Will do. I agree with your opinion. I have a hunch I know what it is, and will report back at the end of this week. Thanks for your input.

No matter what I, or anyone says here, your situation stinks and no doubt most anyone would be frustrated and as fed up as you. Hard as you know what to keep a level head, but as I am sure you have experienced in life, as I have, a reasonable approach usually gets you further than the preverbal bull in a china shop approach. Good luck this week, hope they make it right and you get back on the water quickly.

I'm worried I know what it is, and it is embarrassing. Again, I'll come clean and report out at the end of the week, especially after acting like an idiot last night...

Dude, don't worry about it. We all act like idiots from time to time. We all do really, really dumb things and beat ourselves up over it. I choose to look at these as learning opportunities. For example:

            - You'll see me tell people on here: "If you take the drain plug out, put it in the driver seat. Not in the cupholder." Guess how I know...

            - If you're replacing the impeller on a GT-40, put a piece of tape or something on the top of the pump so you know which way is right-side-up. Don't ask me how I know...

I’ll be curious as to the problem. We’ve all made mistakes with our machines. I just hope it’s something minor and can be easily fixed.

Don't feel bad if it is simple. Last year I bought an '03 Nautique after many years wanting one. I was out with some friends who I used to work with at a marina, and just because this is how we are with each other, they were picking apart anything they could find slightly wrong with the boat - just good-natured harassment, all in good fun. We stopped to fill the ballast and let someone get ready to ride, and then the boat wouldn't re-start. I had a moment of panic - this was the first week I'd had the boat, and I didn't really know all of its systems yet, or its quirks. I'm trying to be rational and think about why it might not be starting, and my friend sitting behind me is listing off all the expensive things it could be, that I already know, but it's not helping. He let me sweat about it for a minute, even open the engine cover - what did I expect to see in there, exactly? - and he said, "hey did you look at the safety lanyard?" I bumped it with my elbow and knocked it on the floor. Re-connected it and of course it started right up.

Like charles said in an earlier post, I've launched a boat without the bilge plug, installed a water pump upside down, rebuilt an entire engine only to put the plug wires on the cap in reverse order, you name it. You only do each of those things once.

Good luck, may cool heads prevail, and I hope it's a good resolution.

If it is simple then he will still need to clear the codes .

I indicated that I would follow up with the resolution at week's end. I have somebody looking at it today/tomorrow.

Having a new boat with problems definitely sucks. My new boat threw codes the second I got it in the water. But thankfully for an amazing dealer who sent parts out right away and a mechanical friend who got a free surf we were good to go. To me it’s all and how you’re treated not necessary if there’s problems or not.

                          Yes and no,

Parts can break, no doubt. Missing parts or incorrectly assembled part is not the same, this is Nautique issues 100%. Even on part can break issue, a good manufacturer will choose his suppliers wisely. Now, this is hard with new parts every few years to please the customers, market, stay competitive.

Mistake can be made, a good manufacturer will go above and beyond to correct his mistake because he knows this is a one off and it will not happen again. A bad manufacturer will not go above and beyond as he knows it will happen often and doing so will eat his margin.

I had a similar message last year on my G21, but the code was DTC 217. It turned out to be the impeller. The factory impeller completely spun out of the hub. Cheap, easy fix.

It's a stage one overheat... not a big deal - usually. Expect that warning to pop up in the future - these motors are temperamental and have a lot of thermometers and it doesn't take much to set a stage 1 warning off.
I get stage 1 half a dozen times a year. Most of the time I have just a couple small things in my water strainer. Other times, i just keep driving and it goes away.

These boats have a ton of electronics - just take a breath, and be happy you have a prop

Bummer about the hull delay and the catalyst - not sure how the catalyst made it past the initial test drive at the factory?
