Warranty will cover this, of course. The point I’m trying to make is that I have had a number of issues in ~32 hours. I still very much believe in Nautique, and their warranty is strong. That said, I spent a “chunk” here. I could have bought any brand, regardless of price; even then, another brand may have had its own issues as well. I’d like to make 100 hours without further issue...

Again, to their credit, they flew me back out to water test this hull on the 13th. It has been a bit of a bumpy road from that point, to a catalyst missing in the port side, to a year later having this tensioner break... Now, did I over-react this past Saturday evening? I'll let you decide...

Nautique’s are known for their quality, this sounds like a reoccurring problem to more than a few boats and needs to be corrected, especially for how much these boats cost nowadays. I owned an older 87’ 2001 for almost 20 years and that boat never once left me stranded on the lake.

These public boards tend to be an easy target for angry customers .

It's a bummer to lose water time, but boats are never perfect no matter how much money you spend. You should see the laundry list that comes with $1,000,000 cruisers -they are a nightmare.
My bluetooth doesnt work half the time, my prop shaft snapped, I get clogged strainers, a mouse chewed through my ballast bag over winter, i had a gel chip from an air bubble on the hull, a tech overfilled my oil and now my bilge is permanently oily, yet i still have an awesome boat (2016). There's always something and that is just the way it is.
Hopefully you will be back on the water shortly and problem free.2012 SANTE 230
