I can't get rid of that lip in the middle of the wave. Any suggestions? What settings make the wave the best to surf? I am basically new here, so if this has been discussed before, please point me in the right direction.
I demoed a GS22 last year and experienced the same thing. I asked one of Nautiques pro riders and he said that it helps if you counterweight the boat. It doesn't make sense but a friend of mine just bought a GS22 and he agreed that it made a big difference. I have no idea on how much weight to add opposite of the surf side but I guess you'll have to experiment. Good Luck!

To offset the prop rotation , I would start with four 50 lbs shot bags and work up from that weight. Place under port observer seat.
A surf boat that needs stock ballast let out and the boat listed to the side to optimize the wave? Say what? I would try more weight in the bow on the rider side before letting out ballast. JMHO.
Long story short and to the point purchase 250 lbs lead shot sacks and throw under port side observer seat and you are done end of story.
After that you will be the man
Just a thought, because the surf wake utilizes the opposite side NSS plate to produce wake on the side you wa t means putting a ton of weight on the side you surf would counter the NSS system. Therefore producing curl in the side you surf.
Okay. I put 250 lbs on port side. Didn't get rid of the lip or really change it. Tried the other side too and didn't do much. I also messed with the ballasts a lot. If I feel the front 100% and backs at 80% and then I actually put NSS on 2 and NCRS on 3 it lessened the lip. The wave is smaller, but my wife actually liked it better than the stock 0-5 100%x3 set up. My daughter likes the factory default better. I tried both and think the 2-3 setup was more fun. I will go back again this week and tweak it some more. Also, that was running between 10.2 and 10.8 mph. There are too many **** settings to figure out to make the best wave. My buddy has a G23 and says that once he put more weight in the front, his wave improved a lot too. Basically using the hull design to form the wave. I'll keep updated.
If you have a GS22 please post your thoughts too, and your settings. Maybe after a season of this we can all find the optimal settings for the best surf wave.

I guess I should have been more specfic in my #7 response above. Placing 250 lbs of lead shot bags under port side observer seat will counter the prop rotation but not necessarily the problem you are having with wave formation. Wave formation is a whole different issue consisting of many, many variables
I just got my GS22 first week of June. I ride regular, and I've found that 100% x3 ballasts with 2 NCRS and 3 NSS at 10.7 mph makes a nice wave on my side, not perfect, but sharp clean lip and not too fast. Where it's frustrating me is on the goofy side. 2 of my good buddies ride Goofy, and I can't seem to dial their sides wave in. I've tried emptying opposite side, belly, etc. but it always comes out a bit sloshy looking. Not clean at all. Hoping to tweak and dial it in this weekend.
