UPS came! New Guages

Well UPS brought my new speedo and tach from Teleflex today for the 2000 SAN. Took about 10 minutes to install. I just need to test them out now! I sure was glad they replaced them free of charge. After looking at the old ones. The tach must have been updated already. It was the same as the new one. The speedo was the old style. They sent both since I called for the speedo. He said they wouldnt match unless I changed both. Funny how I never noticed they were different until I changed them out*L*

How are you gonna test it if you have nothing to compare it to?

The tach is electrical, it either works or not. For the speedo, time yourself (through the course), GPS, or pace another boat to dial in the speedo.

o yeah, i was thinking of the speedo... Thats why we use our tach for speed refrences since both our speedos on the old boat is totally useless...

well the old speedo was fogged up and the numbers didnt work. So I guess if it works.. I am happy.

set up

most tachs are generic. you have to set it up for you application. 2stroke, 4stroke, 4 -6 -8 cylinder. make sure yours is set correctly.

my teleflex lied after 3k, but it was 30 years old.

abun, it's pretty easy to clen out the speedo lines or replace the hose. if you have a course, you can recalibrate the time vs distance. someone correct me, but it's like 16 seconds through the traps. does ski-it-again or skier to skier have the chart?
