Adding a tower to an older boat

People talk about how older boats were not designed for towers and that you could damage your boat by installing one. Well the decks on a Ski Nautique 2001 must be a lot thicker than the decks on the newer boats. The bolts that came with the Titan I tower barely went through the deck for the back mounts. The bolts for the front mounts were a little short also. It sucks that I can not use my tower due to the bolts.

      Longer Bolts

I finished the tower 7:00 PM Sat. night. In our town there is only one store that has a good selection of SS cap bolts and that store is not open Sunday. I promised the wife we could go out of town Monday and Tuesday for the 4th of July. We do not boat on the holidays (lake is too rough), but I would have liked to have tried out the tower Sunday. Since I could not use the tower I installed the new "Ski Nautique 2001" decals this week end. I will probably have to wait until next Sat. to find the time to change out the bolts. It kind of pisses me off since I gave the year and model of the boat with the tower measurements and from searches on the web I found that every Titan tower installed on a 2001 the bolts have been too short. Titan has had to replace the bolts for several customers.
