Cleaning up wake for young riders 210

My son(6) has become obsessed with Watersports this summer and really has been progressing well on a Wakeboard. Currently, I pull him at 13mph and about 50ft out hydrogate forward, on a 2014 210. He's real comfortable there but wants to start going outside the wake. Of course at 13mph the wake is washed and big. Anyone come up with a decent ballast/speed setting for the little ones? I was going to start messing with adding belly weight. He also wants to start jumping the wake so I need to get the wake clean I crashed hard this weekend and I'm shocked it didn't discourage him. Thanks for your help, I'm off to the Chiropractor!

You can get one side at a time clean. I would start by filling one side at a time until it clean and have him work on one transition for a bit then switch to the other side. Once he gets comfortable with that then speed him up and you can get both clean. Unfortunately until about 17.5 you won’t start to see both side clean up.

What speed do you take them Lucky? I was in my friends X2 yesterday and was jealous how easy he cleaned his wake up with the tabs system. Hopefully I’ll find out sweet spot

i would try adding weight to the bow...we used to do this when my friend used to ski my 210...bet that helps. put a sack in the walk way as far up as possible. we used to pull the front center seat sometime and put one of those fat bricks in their.

I pulled my kids at 16-17 when they were learning. Hydrogate forward. Filled a little of the side they were riding on /jumping on to clean it up a bit. The wake gets clean at 18.5 mph with no weight.

Lead wake bags to clean up the wake. I pull my 9 yr old at 18.5.

IÂ’ve got a different boat than OP (2004 SV211) but same principles. IÂ’ve got a 6 and 8 yr old and trying to keep them slower but clean up the wake. I have been gradually increasing their speeds without telling them and letting them get comfortable. I have found that wake on my boat cleans up around 16.5-17.0. Maybe just my boat but the hydro gate seems to wash out the wake more at slow speeds. I like to disengage it. Also just moving some passengers around helps with my weight distribution. I need to try adding the belly weight as I havenÂ’t done that yet.

                  50’ of rope too.

Swat, are you putting any belly or bow weight in? Another issue I've had with the Hdyro gate forward is the rooster tail is huge at that speed. I can hardly see the little guy back there
