    My 2 cents...

A G21 and a GS22 are two completely different boats

But since you ski I recommend trying the GS boats .

Agreed these are completely different boat. Bottomline a G21 would be a joke and laughable to ski behind, just my 2 cents

Love to ski might have been a little to strong of a statement. I do enjoy throwing a slalom ski on and I would have no problem doing so behind a g21 or gs22 or any other boat. I wouldn’t say it’s more important than surfing or wakeboarding. Most important is which boat does the CEO like and want to buy. She is already questioning how much freeboard the gs22 has.

I used to love to ski as well now I only wakesurf but a G21 is not designed or meant for skiing. I'll be blunt again if you want to ski for petesakes don't buy a G21, please.

Will the slalom police come and get me??? Or is it the surf Nazis that can't tolerate a skinny stick behind the boat???

those are both sarcastic, before anyone reads too much into it. I know the g21 is bad for slalom but it's better than not being able to do it at all. Plus our cabin neighbor has a bubble back if I realllllllly need a slalom fix.

I demoed a G21 and a GS22 and bought a G23. G21 is comparable to G23 but GS22 lacks a little in surf department as boat is much lighter but can be rectified with lead or ballast bags. Plus it can ski. Suggest you go that way if you have any inclination of skiing whatsoever. Plus you get rear facing seats and subfloor ballast over the 210.

If the CEO let me have 2 boats, I would already be done and on the water LOL. Bubble back refers to certain years of ski nautique 196. Arguably one of the best slalom hulls

Ideally we could demo the g21 and gs22 back 2 back but probably not going to happen. I am pushing for a used g21 but the wife is really liking the looks of the gs22. We will see what she thinks when we get in it.

Anyone know how the freeboard of the gs22 compares to our '15 23lsv?

I think the GS22 will have a freeboard more like the 210, possibly even less. At least judging by the pictures.

Had a chance to spend an hour on a 2018 gs22 today. It was a public demo so we were limited by time but did get some surfing and seat time. Super cool bonus, Tommy Czeschin was there and ended up jumping in with us. If you ever get a chance to surf with him, do it! Extremely nice guy that loves to give tips and share his knowledge. My boys have a new hero now.
This gs22 has the H5 with a stock prop. We were at 5005’' ele and I was a little skeptical about this setup. We ran only stock ballast at my request. I wanted to see if I could surf it stock with 4 people in the boat. Speed was 10.8mph and engine ran around 2900rpms. I was amazed at how well the H5 handled the weight and altitude. Also amazed at how little bow rise there was, like none, almost.
We were all able to surf it easily and Tommy had no trouble doing airs, shuvits and spins. The pocket was fairly short but plenty of push with a nice lip. The pro ballast option coming for ‘19 will be an awesome upgrade. I think another 400lbs to 600lbs in each locker would make a great wave. The dealer said they have kits for 2018s and update the software to change the fill timers. As we were dumping ballast I jumped up to 22mph and with 50% ballast the boat had no trouble. I would have no concerns with the H5 for the gs22.
We didn’t have a chance to wakeboard but the wake looked nice at 21 with 50% ballast. Honestly, stock would probably be all we ever needed.
Also didn’t ski. Water was pretty chopped up by the time we got out. A couple of the sales people at our dealer have slalomed it and said at 32 - 34mph, it wasn’t bad. It did look better than my LSV with diamond hull.
We really liked the layout of the boat and I love the helm and capt chair. The screen and software don’t seem quite as intuitive as the Malibu system but I had it down in 15 mins so being nit picky. The seadek throughout is sooo nice. The rear lockers are massive compared to anything we’'ve looked at before. The fit and finish is exactly what we expected for any boat in this price range.
So we are getting one, right??? Well maybe and maybe not. The color scheme on their ‘18 isn’'t what we like and the price is still a summer price ($120k). The boat is missing some of the options we want and that’'s going to add $$$ to an already high price. If we wanted to order a ‘'19 the price will only be higher. To be fair that’s just us talking prices and not actually sitting down and gettting serious. We may look at some holdovers as the ‘19s start arriving but for 120k a lightly used g21 sure looks like a smarter buy.

Well, we are pricing 2019 gs22s. Still not sure but if we are going to get a new boat, it’s going to be a gs22. It does everything we want and does those things better than we can utilize. No other boat that we’ve looked at does that. The fit and finish is superb. The full warranty is a big plus to us and our dealer is willing to step up on our trade in. It wouldn’t be worth selling it on my own. Stupid first world problems.
