OK folks.....pretty much a last try for me for the season...........I have purchased.......new rotor, new rotor cap, high pressure pump and low pressure pump and a fuel pressure gauge.
I only have this weekend to mess with it before our trip next week.......so I was planning on trying these options out.
I was goingt o get the numbers for the full pressure test.......ANY ADVICE?
Then I was planning on moving on and replacing pumps.......too soon?
Rotor cao and rotor were just incase the ones I got at the beginning of the season were bad.
Does anyone have any thoughts for this last try?

Somewhere on this site you should be able to find recommended fuel pressure‘s and a few places to check that in the lines. I almost had to go that route when I determined that my low pressure fuel pump was bad and changed it out. My boat wouldn’t even start when that pump went out though. So I doubt you have a low pressure fuel pump issue

ok...this is the results from my test a few minutes ago.......
Relay start: goes to 60 psi and then settles at 55
Start ignition: goes to 60 settles at 53
Engaged: 53
1000 rpm - 3500 rpm hold around 52-55
4000 rpm its starts shaking 50-55
Didn't go further...not should how much to go on land test w/hose of course
My friend with me thought it sounded pretty good....anyones thoughts?
I really think I might just swap out the rotor and rotor cap and see what happens tomm....hard to believe one would go bad in a few months but maybe when I was troubleshooting the over heating problem something messed it up?.....not sure what to think anymore.
I have the pumps to swap out.....if anything I was going to do the high pressure first and see what happens......but hesitant rt now...thinking pumps might be fine. Thank you again for all the help all.

The low pressure fuel pump is most likely to be the failure of the two pumps.
Is your throttle body opening the whole way? Check this without the boat running. As you increase the throttle lever, does the throttle body open throughout the whole range? At max throttle position, is the flap on the body open the whole way?

Roto cap did improve....but I do still feel it.......Charlie P.......not the speed that I actually care about, but more the problem with it not 100% smooth over 22ish.
Was thinking about throwing a new pump in and seeing if that was the culprit.....was going to try high pressure pump first.
Thoughts?

I had a thought over the weekend: In the GT-40 engines there was a tiny hose (a fuel line about 4" long) inside the Fuel Control Cell that had a tendency to crack. I know these engines are different, but at least on my '03 the Fuel Control Cell looks largely the same. There's even that little fuel line - it's part number 25 in the diagram - see PDF attachment. page 30-31.pdf
I can't imagine this is really the issue, but I looked back through this thread and didn't see it mentioned. I don't recall the symptoms but I believe it will run with a cracked hose, just not 100%. It's worth a look I guess - take off the FCC canister and bend this little hose looking for signs of cracking. Can't hurt.

I replaced this hose and clamps in my FCC this Spring. Mine is a 2003 Excalibur. The hose appeared to be in fine shape, but since I was in there, I replaced it. It is a separate part # and not associated with the pump or filter in the FCC. I ordered mine from Discount Inboard Marine.

Given you’ve tried to source the problem for almost a month with all the regular “tune up” refreshing, it might be time to take it to a dealer. Without knowing how these boats operate and feel, you could be just casing your tail and spending unnecessary time and money! My boat wouldn’t start one Saturday morning. I spent all weekend trying to source the problem to no avail. I took it to the dealer Monday and had a call back in 2hrs, it was a bad relay, was back on the water Tuesday.

If you can take some video of the problems, that might help give others something to look at.
