    Sport 200V Opinions

I am really leaning toward the Sport 200 V drive and just wanted to ask the community and current / previous owners on their thoughts.
We slalom course ski first , surfing and wakeboard is secondary. Most of all need the room with 3 kids and wife.
Would the slalom wake be similar to older early 90's DD boats etc? 22-32 off?
Is the wave really surf able? Tried a ''suck'' gate and which one?
Any pictures or videos would be appreciated !

Hoping to try one soon as well...

The slalom wake is decent. At 22-32 off I think you will find it minimal. Definitely surfable but you will want to add more ballast. I pulled the hard tanks and replaced with 750’s.

      • Current 2005 SV 211, due for upgrade! GS22 or GS24 perhaps? Previous

Rented one at Lake Tremblant the year after they came out, skied, boarded, and surfed it. It had a wakemakers piggyback ballast addition. Boat was good for everything but great for nothing. At that time I would have upgraded from my 211 but I was not overly impressed. The main deterrent was the size and usable space in the boat, felt quite small compared to most other boats. I don't think you will be comfortable once your kids start wanting to bring friends (which is all the time with mine).

From my best recollection: Slalom - medium sized soft wake, less trough than my 211, somewhat similar to a TSC1, Wakeboard - more ramp than my 211 but not any taller, Surf - very small sweet spot but fairly clean.

I loved ours. It did get tight once we started having guests out and my wife never liked the freeboard. We had an extra 400# and a suck gate and it threw a great surf wave.

We have a 2013 200V. I ski 28' off @ 34 mph--with a 150lb spotter or equivalent weight under the spotter seat--it's a slightly worse wake than my friends CB 200 DD. Wake boarding is fine for the recreational rider. We have yet to dial-in wake surfing; because, we typically surf behind a friend's G23.

How is the barefooting behind the 200V? I have a 2003 216 with the Excalibur 330 and it does fine for footing. Just wondering if the 200V is comparable because I think that is what I would like to get for my next upgrade.

You'll want a 6.0 in it for barefooting. Lots of wetted surface on the 200 hull, so the drag is greater than your even your 216 (without ballast of course).
