Literally any of the high end sunscreens will be good. It’s the cheap brands that leave that layer. We always have either sun bum or Neutrogena sunscreen.
My wife accidentally grabbed her sunscreen with bronzer one day this year. She got to sit on a towel all day long....I don't get too bent out of shape about much, but am a little more anal with brand new vinyl in the boat this year. I have some in-laws that smoke, but they're well aware that they have to be on a floaty away from the boat.... Pretty much everyone that ends up on my boat has been around boats forever and has their own, so we really have no problems.
When we have newbies on the boat, I have one of my kids rattle off the rules. It's a good reminder for the kids and lets the newbies know I'm not just picking on them.
Although my wife and 4 year old daughter are well boat trained, one reason we went Prostar instead of a 200 this time is the snap out carpet and pop out seats. Much less upholstery to be concerned about if they want to bring snacks or wear sandals.
At this point the more I bring people out the less motivated I am to get a new boat. I’m the only one hat would really appreciate the bells and whistles and I would enjoy it less worrying about all of my guests ruining it. Makes me appreciate the boat I have now more honestly.
I couldn't agree more. Though I really want a new boat.
I have to admit, I’m a sunflower seed junky! I just spit the cracked seeds into an empty water bottle. I’m pretty careful but I can see where seeds could get messy!
What makes me lose my mind is kids, my kids friends, or my friend’s kids constantly running all of over the boat and constantly yelling about me next or can we swim or can we tube or can we this or can we that. Those are the times I want to sell my boat. I can pretty well tolerate anything other than bad kids. Don’t let your kids be brats. For your sake. For their sake. FOR MY SAKE!

What kills me is when we have a rider in the water about to get up and the kids decide to get up and walk around rather than staying seated. Is it really that hard to pay attention to the most important person at that moment (the rider)? All of our kids wakeboard now so its not like they don't understand that the boats about to go when the rope gets tight.
The other thing that drives me insane is the kids wanting a snack as soon as we get on the boat. Now mind you, we have a lake house and make sure we feed the kids before we go out so that doesn't happen, but nooooo they think the boat is a snack room or something.

I recently upgraded from a 96 Super Sport to a 2009 230. Before the SS I had a 95 Sport Nautique.
The SSN and SN were both in very good condition apart from the upolstery and a few small issues that were easy to fix. The 230 has great vinyl but the boat has been used (over 1000 hours) and it shows. I always worried about the older boats because the condition was so good and I didn't want to be the one to ruin a boat that had been well kept for 20 years. With the 230 it's nice to have a boat I can use and abuse. Don't get me wrong, I will take care of it as best I can but with 3 young kids and mostly inexperienced guests, it is alot of work to stay on top of everything. I can't see myself upgrading for a very long time. The work of trying to keep a nice boat nice is just too much while still being able to enjoy family time. Plus, it's a big jump in cost from a 230 to anything that's an upgrade.
Also my docking needs work as I have a tendency to remove gel from the hull on occasion. My plan here is to become an expert in color matching.
