I have an 83-2001 model. Doesn’t throw much of any wake. What prop you guys using to get a little more?

Add more weight in the rear. The wake will get a bit more ramp. This was a ski boat, it was not designed to throw a big wake.
I used 5 gallon buckets with lids in my '79. It was cheap, easy to fill / empty, I could shift them around to compensate for passengers and easy to store when not in use.
Or, get more passengers. I have a friend that is a big guy. When he rode in that boat, the wake was awesome.

The 2001 model is the best budget wakeboard boat on the market, hands down. This boat will throw a big vert wake when properly weighted. Put a 550 on each side of the engine and a 550 in the rear. Put about 240 of sand or lead in the bow and I bet you’’ll be a little scared to hit it. I used to ride behind my 1987’ at 80’ feet @ 23 MPH and the wake was awesome. I used to run a OJ 4 blade, I would now call ACME and ask them what they suggest for your specific boat and ballast, probably a 542.

I just sold my 83 Ski Nautique to upgrade to an 95 Super Sport. Prop won’t help much with wake. I got a good wake out with my ancient Federal prop. I ran an 800lb bag on either side of the engine and it made a huge difference. An ACME 540 or 542 will help you out of the hole and plane a lot easier. The 540 is going to have better top speed if you want to do more than wakeboarding. Otherwise, a 542 will be a great fit. The biggest thing to remember is the 2001 wake is amazing... for the cost and size of the boat. It’s not a G series and never will be.
