    Price for surf boat

rather than ask model yr etc for a decent and reasonably priced surf boat i figured id take another approach...

what does one have to pay for a decent surf boat? are we talking $65k+ minimim?

i dont want something that requires bags and add on fins and what not

I’m not currently a surfer but it’s probanly the only activity that will get my beat up body back on the water. Watersports are way more family friendly than track days. And we have an old prostar for teaching the kids to ski.

I will let others convince you to the merits of G23. I am bias Towards the G23 out of box best surf wakeboard wake in industry. I have a 2014 G23 for sale here in southern Michigan. If you decide that 23 is your boat let me know. Amazing boat. Pictures are on a nautique post from a few weeks ago and I can get more as well. Multiple upgrades. I have storage for the winter so you don’t have to pay and I can set up delivery in spring. Asking 96,000. Very fair for 2014 G 23. Let me know if interested or need some pictures.

You said reasonably priced minimum of 65,000. Nothing about the least expensive. No worries

The 230 is arguably the best surf boat in the Nautique line up.

I got my 2009 for 40k and I'm adding auto ballast system for around 2k.

You say you don't want bags or fins but it is not clear why. I do have 3 bags connect in my boat but the are all hidden away in lockers and basically outa sight out mind.

Not sure what you are referring to with fins?

So basically for under 45k I'll have a boat that can compete with any Nautique for surf wave and the only feature (for surfing) I am missing is the fancy computer.

Not sure you can do it for much less in a Nautique and still have a top quality wave.

He asked if $65 was the lowest price. I think he is asking can you get anything cheaper.

You can get a 07-10 230 around 40-50k, best surf boat for the money.
A 230 with a good setup is very similar if not equal to a G23 in terms of surfing.
The 07-10 230 didn't come with any surf system but you can add this and be set like modern boats.

OK now we're cooking with Crisco. This is worth looking into. I'm fine with adding on equipment that doesn't reaquire me to mess with suction cups. And i frankly wouldn't mind a more analog experience. I can't imagine what those computers cost, knowing what it takes to service a german car that's built at 100x the volume.

Yes I was asking for whether a decent surf boat can be had for under $65k. I wasn't looking to dump at least $65k. This is a new activity for me. I realized a couple weeks ago that I can wakeboard and spend a few grand on Chiro bills and deductibles or I can surf and actually enjoy the experience. My surfer buddies are all throwing out $80k, $90k, $100k options at me and i'm pretty far from making that kind of investment.

Well you have your answer then.
I have friends with G23s and when they surf with me they have zero complaint on the wake. They all say it's very similar riding to theirs.
                    I have an 09 230

Sounds good. I will just post as my two cents. I have surfed every boat in the nautique lineup extensively when purchasing my first G23. There is not the slightest chance that any 230 surfs even close to the G23. You can slam it with 1000s lbs of water and add 10 people. Still the G23 out of the box surf save is far superior. obviously if the money is not a factor a new or used G23 or G21 is far better surf boat

I'm looking at a friends 2012 230 with NSS and he claims his buddies with G23's all want to use his boat all the time. I'm looking at his because he quoted me a number last year but i think he's thinking twice about parting with it. Fall in MN. What a great time to get into a water sport

His would be a stretch but it's darn nice.

if you are looking for new you could get a moomba max for around 65K , the wake will compare to a G23. Just a thought.

                            LOL
This is like the track day conversations. "What's the best track day 911 for under $XXX?" Some guys say get a 996, do the IMS mod, add PSS10 and have a blast. Then the guys with the GT3's chime in and threaten your kids' 529K.

Agreed. The G23 has a HUGE fanboy base and you'll often see responses around that.

For any of us to really help you though, we're going to need a lot more information:

                              - You can most certainly get a good surf boat for under $70K.
                              - Looks like you're fine with a used boat.
                              - Are you trailering? If so, where will you keep the boat when you're not using it?
                              - Are you mechanically inclined or will you be hiring out all of your service?
                              - How big will your typical crew be?
                              - Will you be wakeboarding as well? If so, at what level?
