    14 210. Upgrade or keep. 230? G23?

We are discussing possibilities for our 14 210 with pro ballast. We will either keep it, or upgrade. The options discussed for upgrade are (used) 230 or G23. Taking price out of the equation what would be the advantages of each choice. Thinking 2014-2017 model years. Is the 230 really going to be that much better? G23 obviously way more boat but way more money also.

230 is a bigger better surfing boat. So if you don’t need that...

G23 is a bigger better wakeboarding boat. So if you don’t need that...

both with more money. The 210 is a good all around do everything boat. If you ski more than occasionally, the GS is your thing. If it’s less than occasionally, keep the 210. Hope this helps.

I do about 90-95% surfing. We use my buddy's 1987 pro star when skiing. It would be a factor of is it worth the money for better surf wave, more storage, etc.

Been in same spot for years . Owned many 210 boats and currently own a 15 model. We contemplated this same upgrade . I took a 230 out for a bit and really liked the wave but didn’t really see the 2 feet more like we thought we would .

The G is so much taller inside . It makes it feel huge compared to 230 in my opinion. But we can’t justify the investment. Our 210 surfs great ,easy to park , easier on checkbook , easier to haul (with normal vehicle ) .

          Hope I helped

Lucky. Do you think it would make sense to go to a newer 210 for the improved electronics, stereo?

If you can get your money back out of your current boat, I would upgrade. If not, the only thing you're missing out on is some of the Keeping Up With the Joneses stuff...

I’m in the same boat... literally. Just posted above without reading this. I think I’d like to stay 21’ for lift and storage etc. Just wondering how long to keep it? At what point do the extras start to wear out. NSS, ballast systems, heaters and stereo etc.

Nothing really on the NSS is going to wear out. Over a long enough period you might have an actuator fail but that's about it. The only wear item on the ballast system are the impellers. You will have to change those eventually. Heater and stereo won't wear out.

Not really no... The electrical stuff on NSS is the actuator like stated above also spot on about only real wear item on ballast are the impellers.

Not really . Is it cool of course it is . But won’t make my weekends better. I have 4 rev 8’s and arc audio amp in mine and love it .

I sure could think of many things I can spend that money on rather than new electronics in my same boat . Plus I’m not a huge fan of the solid stripe on the new boats myself .

I think archcityblues is maybe also referring to the LINC 2.0 system longevity controlling everything like NSS, ballast, and stereo controls. I find the panaray system is nicer but not so much nicer that it alone makes the upgrade worthwhile. The bigger motor (400hp v 343hp), change from Polk to JL Audio, 5 year full warranty, automated hydrogate, and pebble/surf select remote are the additional features that have my attention. I agree that the styling isn't as appealing as the previous model years unfortunately.

I was in the same spot with my 2007 210. It was a great all around boat, but I wanted more surf wave and storage. I looked at a new 210 and 230 and determined that the real upgrade was to move to a G. There is no question that the G23 is a phenomenal boat, but have you considered the G21? As a former 210 owner I can attest to the fact that a G21 is a huge upgrade. I have so much more storage, wake, and wave than I had before. I don’t typically run with a huge crew so I didn’t see the need to spend the extra $ on the 23. I personally think the G21 is a very underrated boat. Just some food for thought. We’ve put over 100 hours on our new G21 this summer and absolutely love it.

I agree about the solid stripe. That was a downgrade for sure. I’m sure it was a cost saver, but it took away from the boats’ looks.
