so took my new G out today. Had 8 adults in the boat. So filled 100% ballast had nss at 0 an Ncrs at 5. Wave was extremely big short an steep. So I ran ncrs at 2 to try an lengthen wave which it did but the wave was still like a wall! Could even carve up it an push pocket was small. I had 600 pounds of people in bow the whole time. Tried 70% ballast in rear with belly full. Push wasn’t there but mellowed the wave out a tad. Going back out tomorrow with only 4 people. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

It is a steep wave, but it can definitely be mellowed out and still have plenty of push. My guess is you need to speed up, try 11.7 and bump up from there. Nss 0. Ncrs 2-3. Surf style board I fill it all up, skim board Ill drop rear ballast to 75%. May not work for everyone but this is what works for us.

I go 12 MPH because we like a longer wave. It isn't as steep or tall either, but works for my family.
I bet you were going 11 MPH which is the stock setting, IIRC. It is too slow.

Ya - Stock wave is great for us. Pic shows our wave with out of the box surf settings. We do have 600 pounds of lead distributed front to back evenly - 200 pounds biased to port - to make up for only having a couple people on the boat. Yes, that is a board floating above the wave.

I love it steep, but wife dose not. Best for her is 30% in rear and 70% in front. Nss 0, ncrs 3 speed 11. Bout 4 peeps in the boat. Long mellow wave.

Thank you all for the info! It is greatly appreciated. I tried speeds from 11 to 12 mph. I even ran rear ballast at 75% to try an mellow it out. Took the boat out again following day with only 4 people in the boat. Tried a bunch of setting an it was definitely better but push pocket was still small. I’m going out tomorrow and will post pics of the wave. Going to take it out Wednesday with a guy that has his wave dialed so hopefully we can figure out what is going on. I will try all the setting you guys have mentioned. Thank you all again. With 4 people I ran the boat at 11.6 with nss at 0 an Ncrs at 4 an that seemed the best for me. But still had to pump a ton on the wave an one small mistake an I would drop off the wave

yeah something going on. should be no need to pump unless you are standing narrow and way back on the board. i have an ‘18 G23 and I can make the wave long or steep or anything in-between without sacrificing plenty of push.
