Out of the 3 listed,
The 210 is gonna have the better wake and a great surf wave. 220 wake is a little sensitive to side to side weight but has a respectable surf wave. 226 is more of a crossover boat but will do ok on the wake.
What are going to be your main activities on the boat?2009 Super Air Nautique 210 TE

Not to hi-jack, but how does the GS20 and 22 stack up also? That may be an option for the OP also.

Im just wanting to teach my 7 year old how to wakeboard...I used own a Moomba that I literally had to sink to get a wake out of( had always wished I had bought a natique instead)...Had kids and sold it. 7 years later after many swim lessons we are ready for another boat. I really like the configuration of the 220 but if the wake is not good,I don't want to go through that again. My wife hates the idea of loading the boat down with ballast bags everywhere. And yes, budget is a factor.
I had a small bag of tricks that I could pull off and would love to get my son started now and see what he can accomplish. He is already an athlete at whatever sport he picks. Thank you all for the help!

Honestly is a tossup between the 220 and the210.
The 220 definitely surfs better due to the little deeper v the hull has. The 220 will be cheaper as well , both boats have about same storage . Trying to sell a 220 however if you end up not betting the boat time you want will be tougher , it’s not a super deseireable when compared to the 210 becaue surfing is really it’s best attribute. The wakeboard wake can be great , but the more weight you add the more sensitive side to side the boat becomes on where passengers have to sit. The reversible seating in the 220 is a bit cumbersome , but still available
the 210 is obviously the most popular boat still to date. It demands a premium price because it’s such a versatile boat. It wakeboards like a legend , surfs ok , and skis about as good as a wakeboarding b drive can . The reversible seating was , and still can be argued , the best of a 21ft boat.

Edit: This applies to the team models, or with all three stock tanks, center and two rears. Some early boats did not have all the tanks.Last edited by Beach-TJ; 09-20-2018, 10:51 PM.

Not to thread jack but how much more interior room does the 220 seem to have over the 210?

I would try to find a nice 2nd gen 210 Team Edition. The 210 has a great wakeboard wake and the interior layout is better than the 220 IMO. I think the seating is too broken up in the 220. The 210 might be a little more expensive (maybe a couple thousand more) because it has sort of gained cult status, but it will also hold its value best for this same reason.2007 Malibu Wakesetter 23 LSV, 1995 Cobalt 200

the 210 reversible seating will definitely allow you to hold the same crew and all get a view of the action
