Boat lift

I am in the process of buying a boat lift for our boat dock. The boat dock is a floating dock. I have the option between a front mount OR a side mount boat lift. Is one better than the other? Considering an armor lift or hydro hoist.

I went with Rhino. I just completed my entire system. Metal hip brown color roof, 440 single slip dock, steel trellis frame, concrete toppers, and a rhino 7000 lbs L arm hoist. It’s freaking awesome

2, attached 70 sq ft pwc ports, flex hinge, plus four pylons. And four large spud pylons for the dock itself. Upgraded from my old strong arm, cables, gangway attachment.

Hydra Hoist side mount would be my recommendation. I am on Lake Lanier with floating dock and boat lift. I went the cheap round my first round then got a Hydra Hoist. No brainer imo!

I went with a hydrohoist several years ago because they offer a DC motor option that runs on a 24 volt battery that is charged with a solar panel. It has worked great. I think I remember that side mount is preferable anytime you have a slip/dock with two sides to mount it to.
