    Difference between SAN 210TE, SV-211, 226

    Hello all,

I'm new owning a boat. I have waked on a cable for a long time and a couple of times behind a boat, but i'm going to be buying a boat soon.

So my question is what are the differences between these 3 boats? (SAN 210TE, SV-211, 226)

I was initially going to stop on the 210TE, because i liked the layout and that it has stock ballast, so do the other i believe.

But I want more experienced to comment on the details the 3 boats deliver, wake size? layout? which is more for family time ect.

Thanks a lot for the answers.

The main differences are the 210 is the OG wakeboard boat that has been tried and true for many years. It does have a following and rightfully so. It will throw the best wake out of the 3 for sure, and definitely has the best wakeboard wake out of the three listed, and steep too with lots of pop of the wake.
The 211 and 226 are crossover boats designed to do it all ski, wakeboard, surf, tube. The crossovers are family friendly and do everything ok, the 210 is more of a wakeboard specific boat. The crossovers have a walkthrough on one side in the back which some like and some don’t.
What are your activities going to be behind the boat?
What years are you looking at? The hulls changed in 07 on the 210’s

      Hey, thanks for you reply.

      I'm looking at 2003-2006 boats, 30k$ tops.

When i started looking i stopped on the 210TE because like you said its the top of a wake boat. I didn't like the layout of the 211 with the walthrough, i thought it took away from the seating are. But when i started to look more, i don't know why i just happen to enjoy having it, it's like it opens the boat a bit more.

I really would like to have a great wake to wakeboard, but on the other hand i would like to enjoy staying inside the boat with my friends, surf, wakeskate, maybe tubing.

Is the wake on the 211 bad?, I mean if it's just a tad bit ramp-yer i'm OK with that, i just don't want it to be disappointed and not be able to do tricks.

Also is the surf wave better on the 210TE or the 211? Which boat gets weight in better for surfing?

Are the differences from 211 and 226, that 226 is a bit bigger and that's all? Looks like the same layout, a tab bit different.

      Thanks again guys.

You are correct on the dif between the 211 and the 226.
The layout of the 211 is the reason that I bought mine. I loved how it worked and how people could get in and out of the boat. Plus the pullout carpet was an awesome thing.
As far a performance, I only know the 211. We loved ours. Wake boarding was awesome and surfing was good, just not great. If I were to have kept it, I would have swapped out the hard tanks for the wakemaker set up and get all that extra ballast. The wedge is a must for surfing. I know the bulls are different but that I cannot speak to.

I recommend you try to find a boat that already has ballast upgrades done. Stock tanks from this era were not enough and the upgrade can be $1K+

Sounds like skiing isn’t in your future and that was the appeal of the 211 of the era. If you’re wanting to hang out, bigger is better. I def recommend riding behind the boats, I don’t know the 210’s but seem to remember comments about being rampy with a lip at the end to pop you up (great for experienced, not for beginners?) The general consensus over the years has been if you aren’t trying to ski the 210 is the preferred boat. I do LOVE my walk-thru, though.

I wake boarded behind the old style hull in the 210 a number of years back. The wake is very hard without any wash. When you come in and hit the wake it feels like your hitting a curb. Good for wakeboarding verse the soft washed out wakes that you kind of plow through since there soft. The wake for me was hard to ride since it kind of popped me off balance at the top. I am not that great of a boarder and a more experience rider would not have any issues. The wake to wake is narrow and easy to get across on wake to wake jumps. You can adjust the rope lengths to your riding ability. I had an 06 XStar before and the wake was very wide and it seemed like it was an eternity to get across on wake to wake. So I liked the narrowness of the 210.
I never like the side walk through on the boats, it seemed to me that you lost a lot of good seating area with that option. The wrap around seating gives you area for all the guests to sit and socialize. The full wrap around gives a completion to the circle. Never rode in a 211 or a 226 so cant comment on the boats.
Surfing seems to be the craze and as you get older its a lot more forgiving on the body. Get a boat that will surf good or you will end up selling the boat to get that option.

I don't know if you can get a 2007 or later 210 with your budget, but if you can I would get that hull design. That wakeboarding wake is world class and why I got my current 2017 230. The wake is almost perfect, nice big curve, little lip at the top, and it pops you just right. That hull also surfs very well. The space in the boat just seems a lot bigger than any 21' boat would be.

I'll chime in. For me, the SV211 was the best choice because I was absolutely sold on the walk-thru transom. Heck, it's getting tough to find a top tier wakeboat that DOESN'T have a walk thru transom. And the 211 is affordable with plenty of them out there for less than $33,000.

Back to the walk-thru transom. My kids still love to tube and they always bring several friends along and I can't imagine everyone having to step on the vinyl every time they get in or out of the boat. Not to mention the vinyl gets slippery when wet. Our 211 does just fine for our beginner to intermediate wakeboarders and skiers, and with another 1000 lbs in ballast bags and a wakeshaper it surfs reasonably well.
