    2003 Air Nautique dash question

Just purchased a 2003 Air Nautique and going over with the fine tooth comb. Noticed the oblong dash overlay that surrounds the gauges is loose from the molded dash pod. Removed the thumb screws for access and noticed all of the studs with wingnuts attached to the overlay were broken off of the back. Thought no problem...roughen and epoxy back on and good to go. I did the two on the far right side first since that was the loosest part. After the epoxy set, tried to reinsert overlay back into the dash pod and it was impossible to get the studs to thread back through the holes. They were definitely glued in place and perfectly seated in their recessed holes.
    Any tips?

One of mine is broken as well. Haven't messed with it. I have the bronze color. I believe Nautique Parts has a replacement for the bronze only. Some pictures might help.

ID:	569903 This is basically the same part. The back has six threaded studs attached that insert through the molded dash pod and wingnuts hold it from the back. It seems like with the gauges attached, which all of mine are, it is impossible to thread the studs back in because they don't line up with the holes since the whole thing is flexed into a curve. Just wondering if anyone else has some experience with this or a trick.
