    2016+ G25 surf set up

This fall I decided to trade my 16 G21 in on a loaded up 18 G25 Demo. I put 150 hours on my G21 this summer, it was a great boat but cramped when we had extra people with us. When I demoed the 18 G25 we had 5 people in the boat and 900Lb of lead distributed 350lb starboard and 550Lb port all mid ship under the side seats. Settings 11.4 mph 0 NSS 5 NCRS the wave was cleaner, taller, longer, less steep with more power than the G21 allowing the surfer to ride much farther back and out further on the flat area in front of the wave. I would like to hear what settings other G25 owners are using as well as additional ballast. I own the lead already but I am thinking about adding PNP ballast under the side seats in the same location as we had the lead. Has anyone on here done that?

I was really impressed with how much less bow spray there was in G25. Also we experienced less bow rise with the G25 vs the G21 and it was considerably less affected by people moving around in the boat while surfing.

Everything I have heard about the +16 G23s is that it doesn’t “need” extra weight. However if you desire to maximize the wake or have a small crew the weight needs to be added midship. The hull likes to be sunk deeper but not biased bow to stern or vice versa.

I have heard the +16 G25 can take extra weight but a bias toward the stern can be beneficial. This makes sense to me since the 25 has a bigger running surface area and probably needs its *** to sit down lower.
