    220 boat + trailer weight

    Hello all,

I wanted to know how much weight do the boat and trailer weight. I see that the "dry weight" of the boat is 4,070 lb. I'm not sure about the trailer.

Can someone tell me how much they weigh? Or at least only the trailer so i can add the two?

My vehicle can tow 4850 lbs...Would it be unsafe to tow at the max capacity of the vehicle?

    Thanks all!!

You can figure around 1500# for a typical tandem axle trailer. You are going to be way over your max tow weight.

Its a Toyota Proace Verso, they don't sell it in the USA...But it says the towing capassity is 2200kg which is about 4850lbs...They motor is 2.0 Turbo Diesel, and it has a 6 speed automatic pushing 180HP...Not sure about it i'm kind of maxed out i think...

Not kind of maxed out... You'd actually be over weight for that vehicle unfortunately. I mean it would be fine for dropping in the lake and pulling out if All wheel drive. But definitely not a safe tow vehicle for that boat on the road for long distance and definitely not on the highway.

Hey thanks for the info. Actually that's what i basically need it for, dropping and pulling it out of the lake. The boat will stay at a parking on the dock. But the problems is that the drop in spot is kind of at an angel, pretty big on 20-30 degrees maybe. Not sure if the transmission can handle it.

I always thought that pulling it out of the lake has more force and it's harder on the tranny than pulling it for long distance on the highway? Isn't it when you get moving easier for the car to pull when there is momentum or am I mistaken?

Is the driveline front wheel drive or all wheel drive? In regards to the towing on highway or regular streets is, it's not just the pulling its the stopping too, vehicles Have that rating so owners know thier vehicle can tow and stop safely pulling X amount of weight. Plus you have to factor in gear and gas for the boat. Yes pulling the boat out of the water puts more stress on vehicle than in streets, but pulling a lot of weight on highway stresses the transmission too just in a different way, more like the fluid getting hot inside because vehicle not designed to tow that heavy.
