I'm interested in the new tower down cover. I suspect that with this cover and some plastic wrap around the rub rail you would be good to go

I'm pretty sure the new 2019 tower down cover would not work on your 2014 G21. The design of this cover is specific to the rear folding tower and power tower on the 2019 Gs whereas your 2014 G21 is a front folding tower and manual folding

I no longer have the G21. She gone. I was simply saying in general for the new rear folding power tower and a tower down cover.

I based my response on your boat description to the left. You may want to update

Just bought a boat in Colorado and hauled it back to Michigan (70-80 mph). Used crash/collision wrap all along the rub rail where the cover rides and on the whole front of the boat to protect it from stones and debri. There wasn't a mark on the boat when I got home and removed the cover and wrap. Very pleased with the results. Here's the link for the crash wrap. The great thing about it is it's self adhesive and doesn't flap in the wind.

The cover makes a big difference as to whether or not you can tow with it. Tight covers like the current factory cover or a Cover Sports(Rankin) cover are designed for towing. I just bought a new cover and chose a cover from Angola Canvas, this isn't designed for towing and tents a little better then the previous covers and is more for outdoor storage and being easy to put on in the water.

Now I am generally a no cover while towing person but at the end of last season after winterizing and prepping the boat for winter storage I decided to tow the freshly detailed boat the 50 miles, to where I store it, with the cover on.

The cover was a Factory Cover (Outer Amour by Commercial Sowing). It was around 5 years old and wasn't in the best shape but was still functional. At some point either the cover ripped and came loose or came loose then ripped. Either way the cover was flapping around for 10 or so miles while I drove down the road at about 55mph. It was Night time so it took a while for me to notice the cover wasn't on properly. The cover has two large metal ratchets that hold it in place and they became weapons of boat destruction. Luckily most of the damage I could see when I pulled over was to the rear vinyl sun pads and Seadek on the walk through, all easily replaceable but I haven't seen the boat during the day to fully asses the damage.

I'm not saying I wouldn't tow with a cover again but if I did I would make sure the cover was properly secured and in good condition.

Towed the boat today to try it in the lake we are about to head out on a 1000 mile trip to Lake havasu, never even had the boat in the water since I bought it, boat ran like a champ, the deflectors worked well, not much movement with the wind, the bars do not touch the boat, the cord holding them in place needs to be tightened as I think it streched.

Nice! Keep us updated. If you are heading to Havasu soon, you will get to witness a phenomenon called Havasu Spring Break, where girls with daddy issues wearing pasties hang out with guys who buy $200k+ boats just to polish and park them, and drink beer and Monster all day. Enjoy!

After towing the boat to Havasu and back with the cover on found a few areas that are "dirty" from the cover flapping more at the back by the engine cover deflectors on front of trailer worked very well no movement at all as observed by the motorhome camera, as for the bikini's yes lots to see and some crazy boats, pontoons with 800 hp hanging off the back

Good info. Thanks! The red and black pontoon with the huge Mercs (450hp each?) belongs to my friend. And his isn’t even among the fastest of their crazy pontoon group. LOL!
