Went to the Houston boat show over the weekend. The 2 boats that stood out was the supra and the interior of the mastercraft. The vinyl and foam on the seats are top notch, but it seems nautique has the only boat with all hinged seating. Im sorry but that is a deal breaker when you pay over 100k for a boat and the seat just falls off. Malibu lsv25 still has a couple seats not on hinges.. I mean a hinge does not cost 30k in R&D

Bevo, yes, that included a 6 or 7k Boatmate 8500lb trailer on the sheet.

and no... the $165 did not include tax. Yep, the black and white one.

I was wondering if I was the only one who noticed how nice the Mastercraft X interiors are. Were some of the Mastercraft X? seats not on hinges? I opened every seat and hatch (I think) on the XStar and they were all hinged IIrC. And they were those fancy ones that pull the entire cushion out a little so it doesn’t rub and smash the cushion every movement.

the $178k RI257, not a hinge to be found.

On contrast, every Tige cushion is hinged (that can be), even on their cheaper $60-90k models.

They have even improved from last year. I thought the vinyl and foam was great in my '18 XStar, but they are even better in my '19 X24. I went with coolfeel in both boats, but their new "Odessa" vinyl for 2019 is really awesome as well.

All the seats in the X series boats, and the XStar are hinged. All the seats in the XT series are hinged as well, with the exception of the starboard bow seat in the XT21, and XT23. I don't know why they do that on those two boats. The port bow seat is a hinged gullwing seat, and the seatback on the starboard side is hinged, but not the starboard seat bottom.

Haven't seen them in person yet, but looking at their website, Tige is producing some pretty sharp looking boats. Hope to make it to a couple boat shows in the next 3-4 weeks to check out all the manufacturers.

I hate the diamond stitching in the tige... never did like that.

Can't speak for the ZX5 as I switched to a G right before the 5 came out as I was tired of waiting on it to surface and was hesitant about it's performance. Having spent many hours on the smaller RZX3 lineup, it isn't capable of a G quality ride in chop water and won't do anywhere near the wave height, length and push without the extra plug and play bags which will take the entire rear locker space up. ZX5 seems to be the same issue as it will need addtl rear weight. At 2850 stock the G is plenty IMO and gets the job done and then some.

For me it's hard to compare apples to apples with other mfgs as they are puttting well over 3500lbs in them where the G will shine with just 2850. IMO getting more done with less says a lot. Ask the other MFGs to reduce weight then well see a more accurate comparison! Just food for thought

I really need to stay in the 20-21ft boat market because of my boat slip/lift and my garage. I'm looking for something in that size that is more dedicated to wakeboard/surf than my GS20. Of course the 210 is on my short list, but really want to see the new Tige RZX20.

I may be in the minority, but I actually think it looks good. I looks like its done in a tasteful way to me.

What year is your GS? I demo’d a 2019 GS24 in November and loved it. Wave was pretty dang sweet. Probably not G quality but the ride of the GS was top notch.

My GS is a 2017. It produces a decent wave, but the wave is super short and doesn’t have a lot of push. Gonna try a new, wider more buoyant surf board in the spring. Hope that makes a big difference.

Have you messed with any Lead or extra weight?

Yes. I have 600# pound sacks in each rear locker and a 500# sack under the seats in the bow. I hate filling them because I have to use an over the side of the boat pump. Our oldest son has started showing some interest in surfing so that will give me a great excuse to play around with weight and a new board this summer.

Never messed around with lead. Not sure I would want that extra weight on my lift all the time.

Yea, that's the tradeoff. Shot bags take up a LOT less space and you don't have to break out a Tsunami pump but then you're carrying them ALL the time. I ended up with a hybrid setup. The Pro Ballast option gets me to 2100 pounds of ballast via water. I get the next 850 pounds from shot bags which is enough for the 230. Yea, it could take more and be bigger but what we have is plenty.
