The interior will feel like an oven and you can almost burn yourself on black gelcoat. I personally, would never buy it. Despite thinking that you can always have plenty of towels and get in the lake often, it doesn't always work that way when you are the driver and have a crew that wants to take their next turn behind the boat.

It absolutely will take extra maintenance to keep the black looking sharp, if that is what you like to do in your off hours.
Black looks really good. It definitely will be timeless. Given that it is not the ONLY good looking color, I would choose to go another direction.

Do yourself a favor and take a black and a white of anything you have, whether it be a car, shirt, or trash bag and leave it in the sun for 10 minutes today and see which one is hotter. You do not need anything hotter in Las Vegas in the middle of the summer.

As you can guess, I feel strongly about it. I owned a black boat with some black above the rubrail. Other very reasonable people on this board often cite that it isn't too bad. The black color issue seems to bring up a lot of disagreeing opinions, so that by itself should tell you something.
I had to check the name of the poster to make sure it was not me. I could not agree more. My darker blue highlights never felt good on the back. Even the darker piping was uncomfortable. Its a great question and worth consideration for your personal preference but as you see there are those who would buy regardless so the resale is not an issue.

There are some people that will buy a black boat. I'm not one of them, certainly not in NC.

If you intend to keep a boat 15 years then really, get whatever color scheme you want. Now personally I don't keep a boat more than a few years. I am most certainly picking colors that are easy to resell. Colors that appeal to the broadest group of possible buyers. If you're planning to flip your boat every few years, choose carefully.

I owned an all black boat. It was noticeably hotter, even on mild days, than my friends’ boats that were not black. It attracted and generated more heat, and you could feel it. If you don’t mind spendIng the extra time throughout the day detailing it, then it is not as much work at the end of the day to clean it.

My current boat is red and black, and we spend too much time wiping it down throughout the day. My next boat will be all white, as quality time on the water is our #1 priority.
