It says it has the crusader motor, and yes, I know it is a school boat (equivalent to a buying a former rental car) but for someone who might live on brackish river or use the boat in salt water, this seems like a smoking deal.

I saw a '06 boat the other day that had 7200 hrs on it. What is that equal to in miles on a car?

From what I’ve read you times it by 60 and some say 50. I think that’s very high. So if the boat had 7,200 hrs that would be 432,000 miles using 60 and 360,00 using 50. But that’s based on MPH, no wakeboard is going to average that. I would say most wake boats average 25 max( and that’s probably on the high side) over their life span. If we use 25 being gracious, that converts to 180,000 miles.

No matter how you cut it, that is a lot of hrs for an 06’, my 87’ 2001 had 1,500 on it but she still started every time and ran like a champ for the 20 years I had her.

We also have to remember that hrs rack up sitting listening to music while swimming, partying etc. The biggest factor in engine life is routine maintenance, even in a boat used in salt water. My dad owned an old coast guard converted sea ray for 30 years that he used exclusively in salt. He performed routine maintenance and flushed and washed after every time out and that boat never had any major problems.

I think that that is a rental boat, not a ski school. So all of its hours are driven by renters, not someone who cares. I considered doing a rental one time when we were visiting San Diego, and am pretty sure that is the place.

They're a ski school... Not a rental as JP said above. They also tow all the SDSU watersports PE classes. They sell their used boats pretty much every year, one year they had 4 available, I'm sure the links are dead, but there have been multiple threads on PN with their boats for sale in the past.
