Barefoot Boom

Does anyone have an suggestions for mounting a boom bracket on a 97 SN. I think the boom I have is a Barefoot international and I have always mounted the bracket as low to the floor as possible and remove it each time as it can mark the engine cover. Anyone have any better suggestions. I have never mounted it higher on the pylon as I have thought the boom would be too low to foot with ( I am 6ft tall) or the pylon starts to get to narrow. Sorry I don't have a pic on hand at the moment.

Have you seen this. Look s pretty cool. I saw it yesterday when I was doing my daily ebay nautique search. Just a bad habit of mine.

I think you could use this...did you look at the bottom picture of it in this listing? It shows almost exactly what you are talking about. Then just slip that 18" shaft down to the floor, leaving the clamp up at the top of the factory tow pylon. Essentially mounting it upside down versus what is shown in the bottom photo image.

I actually bought one of these and it really works good...I just bought it so I could use my barefoot boom & leave my skylon attached though.

Pics would be great. I have a skyjac universal contour boom with the spray marine mount and there is tons of room for adjusment, big or small. My boat also has a bend in the pylon unlike newer boats and the mounting bracket still has a lot of room for people of all sizes. I can also mount my xpole on the pylon and not have to move my boom mount for adults - small kids and I can't use the xpole at the same time, otherwise its a perfect set up. I always leave the mount on the pylon.

also, where do you ski? I'm in T.O. as well, but obviously don't ski here :shock:

Barefoot International makes an pylon mounted boom adjust that works even better. It's got a pin and allows for adjustment on the fly....depending of the size of the person. I have one, and It works awesome. Although, I leave it attached to the pylon all the time.

This is not the best pic. The adjuster mount vertical of course. If you do a search on "boom height adjuster" you'll find a bunch of sites that sell them....
