    2019 Nautique GS24 - Wake for Surfing & Wakeboarding

I am looking at the 2019 Nautique GS24 but I am not able to take it for test drive because winter in WI and want to take advantage of the boat show prices. I am not able to find any reviews on line about this boat on how the wake is for surfing and wakeboarding. I can only find reviews on the 2018 GS24 and all say the wake is not good for surfing and wakeboarding. The dealer told me they changed the haul for 2019 and added the 700lbs of ballast which made the wake better than 2018. Has anyone surfed and wakeboard behind the 2019 GS24 and could tell me how the wake is? I have surfed behind a 2015 Nautique G23 and the wake was awesome for surfing on it. How does the 2019 GS24 compare to that wake?

There is precious little information on the GS24 and believe me, we have asked and asked on this forum. Nobody has said much at all.

Starting in 2019 the Pro Ballast option has been added to the entire GS line, but I do not believe there have been any hull changes on any of the GS boats.

adding 700lbs of ballast on a 24' boat will not drastically improve the wake. is there a reason you want the 24 over the 22? i have seen good reviews on the GS22 surf wake.

I read what I believe is your post on the FB group and the info you received is less than accurate or true for that matter. First, there has been NO HULL change to any of the GS line up. I went over this with a nautique factory rep. He just smacks his head when anyone says “I heard on FB”. Second, 700lbs isn’t going to make a huge difference on the gs24. It made a better wave on the gs22 but even then most I have talked to are planning on running even more with bow ballast to help offset the extra stern weight. I would think in the gs24 you would want at least another 700lbs in each locker with weight in the bow to compensate. We have a gs24 on our lake that was throwing a pretty decent size surf wake but I haven’t had a chance to talk to them about it. For the price of a new gs24 you could get a really nice used g23. Do you plan on skiing a lot or at all?

He said his dealer told him the hull (haul) changed. So somebody is misinformed.

If you are hoping to get a GS24 because it might be like the 2015 G23, but new, then you are doing it wrong. GS24 is not going to be a G23, no matter how you work it. I would look for a nice used 2016+ G23 and be happy with it, unless you have some other reason to be looking at the GS boats.

The mystery boat continues down the street of doubters. Just saying in the boredom of winter as I count the days till spring. The forum needs some excitement as we plow down the home stretch of the off season.

I owned 2017 GS20, then realized I needed more boat. Tested the GS24, GS22, G21 and G23. The GS24 was really long and didn't seem to have a great surf wave (not that much better than my GS20). I would rank the G23, then G21, then GS22, then GS24. If your objective is to simply fit more people in the boat then the GS24 may be a good option. If you are looking for the size of the boat to equate to better surf or wake then go to a G. I bought a 2018 G23.

Should also say that the GS24 drove really well and was attractive to be able to ski, we just preferred going with an unbeatable wake option with the G.

Not sure about the hull change but I do know that the NSS changed on the GS24 along with the addition of Pro Ballast. I talked to Adam Wensink at the boat show a few weeks ago and he said that the surf wave is amazing with the changes!

The Pro Ballast option does not change the NSS. Pro Ballast just adds sacks on top of the hard tanks.

Correct. I meant that the NSS actually changed on the 2019 GS24. It extends out further than any of the NSS plates on any other boat.

I feel like this tells you everything you need to know. They needed to manipulate the surf system differently than any of the other boats that have great surf waves with the system as is. It's my belief that there's a reason we can't get any good info about this boat. Other than capacity there's not a lot to say.

N3 Boatworks has a really nice looking '19 GS24. I feel like if you messaged them on FB or Insta they would shoot you straight about actual wake performance.

Why is there no information about changes like this on this site? I don’t get that at all. A longer plate or changes made to the NSS to make it work better on a new hull should be on this site, To let people and ( future customers ) know about improvement Nautique has made or is making.
I guess it’s the same situation with the garmin/pebble.

Pretty sure this site dissects every minute change each model year. In fact rumors of changes circle the forum months before they're actually released. And Jeff posts every press release by Nautique too that include new models and annual model updates. Can't blame the forum if A.) no one cares about this boat and B.) Nautique is not actively marketing updates to the boat (that may or may not have happened).

I get what your saying and definitely not blaming the forum, what I am saying is.. If a change like that was actually made to the NSS plates and it improved the boat, you’d think Nautique would actually release that info.
