2001 Air Nautique Questions - Any good???

I am looking into a 2001 Air Nautique. Was this model year a good year for the Air Nautiques? I currently have a 94 SN and am looking to buy something geared more towards wakeboarding only. What features should I look for in this boat? It has the 5.0HO motor. Did they not offer a 351 in these boats? Ive got the pro boss in my current boat and dont want to give up that power. Does this boat give off a better wakeboarding wake? Sorry for all the dumb questions, but I have never looked into this kind of boat before so Im just trying to learn a little before I go and purchase one. Thanks in advanc for any info.

I have a 2001 Super Air Nautique and the boat has been a blast. If you aren't looking at the V-drive air nautique then disreguard my comments. Just incase you used the term air nautique generally feel free to read on. I have the same motor, 310 HP. It does really well until you get 2000+ lbs of ballast. Then it takes a while to get on plane. I think that would be true for most boats though. Skiing is a waste of time so I've been told. I don't ski, but a few of my buddies do and they only tried it once. Make sure the boat has perfect pass too.

      Good luck

Ah - this is a confusing string of notes, a 2001 Air Nautique is a direct drive model. A 2001 Super Air is a V-drive. The 5.0 (275hp) engine and the 310 HP (351) is not the same engine. Look the 2000 or 2002 catalog on this web site. http://correctcraftfan.com/reference/
I do not see the 2001 Catalog, but the Air Nautique was the same from 2000 to 2002
The 2001 Air is a great cross over boat (skiing and Wakeboarding), but not as specific to Wake Boarding as the Super Air. The Super Air will produce a bigger Wake.

I had an extra 650lbs in my boat of people the last weekend and i fell in love with the new wake.

2001 Air Nautique with about 1200lbs of ballast plus a 4 people makes a really really good wakeboarding boat. Ive never skied on any of the CC pure wakeboard boats but i can say i got mad 'pop' off the wake. It was simply amazing.
