2017 G23 Coastal Manufacture Defect

Gel Coat Fracture warranty repair attempt resulted in further damage, unable to resolve with Nautique Boats owner Bill Yeargin and Sun Country Marine Group owner Mike Basso!

David, I am sure this is a touchy subject and I am by no means trying to stir the pot. What exactly is the dealer saying regarding the repair? I have a 17 CE as well that had a major stress crack in the top deck that they claimed to be from abuse. Definitely the farthest thing from abuse. My dealer (who I did NOT buy from) went to bat for me and got it taken care of because they know how I take care of my boats. What is the back story??

The first picture looks like a strike not a stress crack. What was the manufacturer defect?

Where on the boat is this located? Can you post a picture from a little farther back? Second picture appears to be looking up into the gunnel with the trim panel removed, but can't tell for sure. Is that correct?

Normally a spider crack like that originates from impact of some sort, or possibly a screw coming through from the backside or something. Either way, this looks like an easy repair.

The dealership Sun Country Marine Group would like another attempt, but because of all of the other damage done to the boat I do not feel comfortable allowing them to possibly do more damage to my boat, I have asked Nautique to provide another facility for repair but have not been provided that for 6 months or any other options. The fracture is on the starboard side in the walk through to the swim step/transom in plain sight, I will post better pictures

I purchased this boat brand new custom order through Sun Country Marine Group. I took delivery in July of 2017, I have had a total of 11 different problems with the boat so far!
The fracture is a manufacture defect and has been accepted by Nautique under the warranty. Sun Country Marine Group was paid $300 by Nautique to have it fixed, no inspection has been made to determine what caused the fracture, and the non certified person that attempted the repair did a terrible job as you can see in the picture and caused additional damage to the boat due to carelessness. The additional damage consists of scratches some deeper than other all over the boat from front to back. I would post the pictures here but it is difficult for me to post pictures here due to the size constraints. Sun Country Marine has lied to me, and has attempted to make me look like the liar! Sun Country Marine Group attempted to make me believe that automotive paint and gel coat are the same. Obviously I do not want Sun Country Marine Group touching my boat again. Correct Craft Owner/CEO has been contacted has ran me around in circles for 6 months. I have tried to work with them patiently, politely, and professionally but I have made no progress in 6 months! but could have happened at the factory or something. Either way,.... hope you get everything sorted!

I don’t know the whole series of problems but from what I’m reading it sounds like a dealer issue . I would focus your energy with Nautique vs dealer as you have attempted .Like you, I have a 2017 model and have had a laundry lists of warranty issues mostly minor or cosmetic to be address and my dealer has corrected them either in the spring during impeller changes or in the fall during the the winterization process .
