I purchased this boat brand new custom order through Sun Country Marine Group. I took delivery in July of 2017, I have had a total of 11 different problems with the boat so far!
The fracture is a manufacture defect and has been accepted by Nautique under the warranty. Sun Country Marine Group was paid $300 by Nautique to have it fixed, no inspection has been made to determine what caused the fracture, and the non certified person that attempted the repair did a terrible job as you can see in the picture and caused additional damage to the boat due to carelessness. The additional damage consists of scratches some deeper than others all over the boat from front to back. I would post the pictures here but it is difficult for me to post pictures here due to the size constraints. Sun Country Marine has lied to me, and has attempted to make me look like the liar! Sun Country Marine Group attempted to make me believe that automotive paint and gel coat are the same. Obviously I do not want Sun Country Marine Group touching my boat again. Correct Craft Owner/CEO has been contacted has ran me around in circles for 6 months. I have tried to work with them patiently, politely, and professionally but I have made no progress in 6 months! Thank you for all your comments and support, I have also posted to Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

I have been around boats my entire life. That’s a classic impact fracture. Really does not look like a manufacturing defect. In any case it should have been a very simple repair. Take it to a good glass guy and get a estimate. See if Nautique will pay for it. Should be just a couple of hundred dollars.

David, I'm right there with you in the laundry list of problems. I have had to take mine back to the factory for a 2 week span previously. Every time that I've had an issue, as annoying/inconvenient as it may be, Nautique has come through on their end of the deal. We all know how frustrating something like this can be but I would try and refrain from putting them on blast all over social media. How far away are you from another dealer?

David, I drive 2 1/2 hours one way for my dealer. Take a chance and let them know your situation. See if they can earn your business and take care of you. I literally drive passed a dealer to get to mine. You might find a place that wins you over for the rest of your ownership.

JGordon210T, Wow 2 1/2 hours each way. Looks like I might be doing the same thing soon. Not looking forward to that! Thanks for all your input! I will keep you posted with updates.

This is a good way to build a relationship with Nautique. Put them on blast all over the forums and social media

DocPhil, No its not a good way to build a relationship with Nautique but after over 6 months of being patient, polite, and professional with Nautique and Sun Country Marine Group, being lied to and being called a liar, I feel my actions are warranted.

Unlike DocPhil I assumed good intent on your part, and that you tried. I feel ya.

Sounds like the bigger issue is all the additional damage caused by the Dealer trying to fix a relatively minor and straight forward defect. Is that right?

Sounds like his good intent happened over the last 6 months. This thread is the result of poor follow through by Nautique and his dealer.

Whats with the people on this site always defending Nautique and jumping down the throats of owners that have clearly been mistreated. If this guy custom ordered a $150k boat and it’s got a defect then Nautique should dam well be fixing it.
