What to do, boat on wrong trailer. Dealership advice.

I am a big supporter of correct trailer setup, and that boat really should be on the correct trailer with the correct axle setup, especially if you're towing it a long distance.

You definitely don't want to trailer 5 hours with a light tongue at speed. Put the tongue on a scale and add weight to the front to get the proper tongue weight which should be 10 to 15 percent of the gross load. It will trailer just fine. If you desire to change the axle you can modify it at your convenience once home.

I thought about doing this. But in the long run it’s just a headache for me. Gonna see what the dealer will do for me. Adding weight to the boat isn’t going to satisfy me

Dealer is amazing. Totally agreed it isn’t worth the liability and is ordering a new trailer.

The only problem is a delay. Gotta wait for the trailer to be made. Hopefully no more then 4 weeks. I don’t know what boatmates lead time is right now.

Thats the way i always try to be. Blasting someone on the internet doesn’t help anyone. We went with this dealer because of their reputation and how friendly they were to us, even though we were not buying a boat at the time we met them. I just got a little nervous at first and came here for some advice on how to handle it and what would be acceptable. Glad it’s all going in the right direction.

I’m waiting till everything is said and done. Just like i didn’t jump the gun to call them out, wanna make sure it all works out. Def a detailed review will come.
