We are lucky to have such a good dealer in our area. My story:
Monday July 3rd we are at Lake Gaston, NC. 2:45pm and hit the prop on a rock. I was just stupid and knew I should not be where I was. Crowded and instead of asking someone to move out of my way I paid the price. Put the googles on and check for damage. Looks to be just the prop. Horrible vibration at anything above 9mph.
I limp it back to the lakehouse. Stewing because it is late in the day and the next day is the 4th and everything is closed. Boat is not usable for the 13 people we have up for the week for I don't know how long. Arrive back to the house after 4pm. Called WhiteLake in Burlington, NC and got Nick. Suprised they were still open! Got him the numbers off the prop. He does not have a direct replacement for my ACME 654. But he does have a ACME 422 in stock for a very fair price. Even makes phone calls to ensure it will work. (I had no internet available to confirm anything). There is no way we can get there before they close. Can they take a cc over the phone and leave it outside? SURE! AWESOME!!!
We fly out to Burlinton (2hrs) and pick up the prop that night. Back on the water by 9am the next day.
Moral of the story:
1) Always have a spare prop and puller (I have for the last 2 boats but got lazy with the Nautique. Also the previous owner already had the ACME 654 on there so it wasn't an upgrade this time which makes spending a few hundred less painfull).
2) Nick at White Lake went out of his way to ensure we could back on the water quickly. Needless to say he was quite popular with out guests. Thanks again Nick and White Lake. Saved our vacation!
