    Hi All,

It may be easier to give some thoughts if you explain what it is that you read that you are mixed about.

Give it time and it will name itself. Now the question, do you paint it across the transom?

Once you decide on a boat name, you should consider these Dome Numbers for boat name. I have them on my G23 and I'm please with how they turned out . They can color match the dome lettering to match your boat color and Nautique font design.

All I will add on this subject is that I bought a boat one time and the former owner had named and decal-ed it along the transom, "Paranoia". That struck way too close to home, way too much like me...So while I thought it was potentially serendipitous that it came with that, I removed it as quick as possible.

I knew if I left it - that every time I laid eyes on it I would be drawn to reflect on why it came labeled that way.

Removed as quick as possible...wow you are right about the name fitting.

I find being paranoid or superstitious a waste of mental energy so I have decided not to be...

Adrenaline1GMLIIIsrock .i meant i read mixed reviews about naming it or not..however i definitely want to name it and i used domed numbers for my registration. I still have to decide if i am going to sticker it on the boat or not i guess if it starts with Nauti- i would remove the original letters and use domed numbers to match the black chroma but if i just give it a classic name ill may put it underneath...i am christening the boat this saturday so i am under the gun lol ..any ideas would be much appreciated.....

I put my boat name right under the Nautique font you have shown in the pictured using Dome Lettering - Nautique font design. Will send a picture of the completed job once I'm at my lake place this weekend.

I would not remove a portion of the original letters. All or nothing. I would encourage you to leave the Nautique and add something underneath at the most. I get wanting to name the boat and we have had various nicknames for ours. However, I can't put my finger on it but a nickname stickered on a new boat like yours is not my cup of tea. For some reason, I don't have the same stance on classic wooden boats or large sea-going yachts or fishing vessels. I get that its a double standard and may not make sense but thats my reaction to nicknames.

Here you go from an old post of mine. Obvisiously the transom area of your GS20 will have a different measurnent than my G23 transom area therefore you will need to measure the surface area of the where the lettering be located.

"Here is a picture of the Midnight Blue transom dome overlays (19 inch) from Dome Numbers. During the application I placed each letter on individually which seemed to work better. I also installed the Boat Name in Midnight Blue from Dome Numbers and the lenght is 19 inches with the Nautique font height of 1 1/2 inches."

To each their own. I haven’’t named my boats. They are just called the boat or the manufacturer name. Already paid for my NAUTIQUE decal when I bought my boat haha

IMHO, Only old woodies or boats over, oh, I dont know, maybe 30 feet, should have names on them.

Yes that would be a mistake to remove the Nautique logo
