I have 2016 SAN 230 with same design and tow 2 tubes on that tow point regularly. Never had an issue. I use a carabiner to attach quickly.

That is supposed to be strictly a lifting or at least that’s what the factory will tell you. When searching for our 210 we ran into this issue as well. My dad slalom skis so we wanted the thimble pop up ski pylon. There are two styles for the pop up pylon. I will dig through my photos to find the two styles and take a picture of what’s on my 2008 210. The dealers I spoke to while searching for a 210 all said it was safe to use the lifting ring for towing skiers and tubers. It always scared my dad and I so that’s why we bought a 210 with the pop up ski pylon specifically designed for skiing and tubes. Also the thimble design is much better for slalom

Here is the pylon that is on my 2008 210. I can get more pictures when I get home from work. The lift rings for the stern are placed below the platform. I called the factory several times and Nautique parts about replacing or using the lift ring and they said it would have to be reinforced. However, the dealers I spoke to said to use the lift ring for towing. My decision was more for slalom skiing rather than towing tubes. Just wanted to add what the factory warned me
