I'm purchasing a 2006 Ski Nautique which I THINK is a 196.

However, the title says it's a 206 that is 19'6". Clearly a discrepancy. The boat I'm buying is a closed bow, does that automatically make it the 196?

That’s a great ski boat. I have an 02 196 and I have a few buddies that have 05/06 196s.
