    new trailer

I have a 97 ski 196 with a ramlin trailer now.... but my new garage it doesn't fit without taking the swim platform off and put up the tongue what is a pain in the a$$...

I was thinking about buying a new boat but can't see spending the extra $$$ for a new one.... when there is nothing wrong with mine now it only has 591 hours on it and trailer is fine too just doesn't fit in the garage.... Like to get a new trailer with the swing-away tongue to make life easier...

    so here are my questions?

    1. make of trailer.... ramlin, boatmate, eagle, etc?

    2. single or tandem axle (single now) (only tow 3 miles to boat ramp daily and take 2 trips a year on highway speed about 800 miles)

    3. must have swing-away tongue.

    4. disc brakes?

    5. oil bath hubs?

    6. any other must haves?

    Thanks

    Swing Away Hitch

Have you considered converting your trailer to a SwingAway hitch. Check out their website at http://www.pivithitch.com/home.html. They have a kit that looks fairly simple to install. Click on Retrofit Option to see the conversion.

      RE: Swing Away Hitch

I just got a new trailmaster which is the best money I've spent on the boat so far. I also have a 97. Mine was $2800 loaded to the gills, but I think you can get a base single axle for under $2000. See this link..pics on page 2
