Spongy Floorboard 1999 Sport Nautique

Our 1999 Sport Nautique has a “soft / spongy” section of flooring- the removable piece that the engine cover is anchored to. It has always been like this and we’d like to replace this small piece of the floor. Any ideas where to find a new piece?

I know the piece you mean. Not sure what it is made of (shouldn't be wood). You might be able to find a piece of King Starboard that is thick enough, cut it to size and add carpet.

I know this piece, too. I think finding an OEM piece would be difficult. I would say you have two options. First, is to duplicate the piece and as Jeff mentioned you could use thick starboard or sandwich style construction with multiple layers. The second, which may be easier is to make some additional metal supports under the board. I believe there is only one that came from the factory. The piece will slide out and forward if you remove the doghouse. On my 1999 this was sort of soft and spongy, too. It wasn't too bad, so I just lived with it.
