Every G I’ve had has the same problem.

look at where your bimini folds... and touches and rubs on the other parts of the bimini. It’ll eventually wear through if you keep it folded and do a lot of towing.

.99cent sliced pool noodle to insulate those areas

I think it might depend on what you mean by a lot of towing. My last G I had for 3 seasons and towed about 700- 1000 miles per year. No problems. IIRC, NYRyan tows way more than that. I did not see any evidence of the bimini 'wings' shuddering against one another.

On my 210, if you have the bimini top cover sleeve on correctly it is not a problem.

My first G scissored through the material before I figured out what was happening. Was covered under warranty.

my 2nd G I noodle shimmed 90% of the time, still had wear marks for the few times I didn’t shim.

this new one already has marks already just from the tow home. In the surf board pads.

guaranteed there’s wear marks... to whatever degree in your Biminis if you did any decent towing. If your boat lives on a lift it’s probably not a problem.

We tow 2000-3000 miles a season on highways. 3 seasons and no Bimini issues. Do you use the up/over/under method with your cover to get things tight? You can’t just slide the cover on and fasten the loops.

Yes we use the up under over method when towing on trailer. Otherwise in water it is just buckled behind the tower bar.

What is this up, under, over method of which you speak? I recently bought a 2016 G21 & have been blissfully unaware of anything special I needed to be doing.

I would like to know as well. I just put the bimini cover on the same way Adam Winsink shows it done in the walk through videos.

Towed approx 900 miles this week with tower down... ended up with small rips in the top of the bimini boot. Had the slide in Air dam in place.

I fully understand what you’re doing there...but it has nothing to do or ability to stop the 2 side wings of the Bimini from rubbing on each other when folded and scissoring the material.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks these board straps are seriously difficult to pull up from the position they are in. We have resorted to bringing the racks inside the boat and having two people reef on them. I'm a fairly big strong guy and these things challenge my manliness daily.
