206 Model hydrogate question

Silly question here but easy one - when fully deployed, does the hydrogate go to about a 45 degree angle or all the way to 90 degrees (flat with the hull bottom). I can't seem to find anything on youtube that shows how the gate operates.

This is specific to 206 model Ski Nautique. Thanks!

It goes to about 45 degrees, but there is a metal plate that sits vertically against the rear portion of the hull. That moves up and down while staying vertical.

When engaged the flat plate sticks down 1/4” below the hull to act as a hook that flattens the boat out.

When disengaged, the plate rises up out of the way - the bracket that’s at an angle is what moves the plate up and down. The bracket itself doesn’t affect the wake.
