My tip is to drive your center of gravity through your hips. Too often I see beginners on my boat make huge weight shifts from their front foot to back foot. So they go flying towards the boat and then out the back of the wave. Shifting your weight in your hips keeps those movements small.

Ever try an Indo board or balance board? If you have and get the hang of it and can do it effortlessly it is a good trainer for this balance and weight shift
