    Battery Switch Question

    Hey All,

Looking at swapping my Blue Sea Systems four position switch to a three position switch (on and both) which is completely isolated, along with a charging circuit. My question is, these are 65AMP switches.... Don't we have 110 AMP Alternators? This is an 18 230.

    Thanks in advance.

The 6011 mini is 300A continuous. You do know that an ACR/VSR goes along with that switch change?

That was the one I was looking at, why do they advertise "for 65 amp alternators" I guess is my question. with that said, it's also the size that's in our boats.

      The exact kit is below:

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHH.... It's not the switch... it's the relay. I feel like a big dumb animal now.

        Thanks

Just buy them a-la-carte and get the 6011 switch and 7610 ACR

Just a thought, if you only want a way to combine the batteries as an emergency jump-start, you can just use a simple disconnect switch between them. ON = connected, OFF = separated. Then the charging relay keeps the second battery charged. It's a little simpler to wire it up that way, if all you want is the ability to combine or isolate.

I'm actually kinda surprised they only setup the G boats with the 6011 and a charging relay. All the other boats use .. well what I got.
