    19 G21 - Lead & Surf Setup

Finally pulled the trigger and purchased a G21! We pick her up on Friday and out to Havasu she goes.

Im in the process of ordering lead and figuring out the best surf setups.

How much lead do I need and where should it be placed? Most of the time there will be me driving (180 lbs) wife and 3 kids (totally maybe 300 lbs).

The setups I’m looking for are for Skimming (me) and a normal surf style. My kids surf well (360s and Ariel’s) so no need for a beginner setup.

    TIA!

To just cut to the chase go on and get 500 lbs at a minimum to receive the discount if not you will fine yourself reordering more just saying . I have 750 lbs in my G23

Agreed. 500 lbs min, 800 is optimal. You will want 100 lbs on each side of the bow seats, pushed up into the nose. 200 lbs under front passenger seat to offset prop torque. 200 lbs under each (starboard and port) rear passenger seats pushed forward in the under seat storage. The G21 has a pretty steep wave so avoid making it worse by putting weight in the rear lockers.

      Surf at NSS 0, NCRS 4 or 5. Speed 11.2 - 11.5
      Skim at NSS 0, NCRS 1 or 2. Speed 11 - 11.3

I ordered another 500 lbs today (I have 400 I can pull from my old boat before it's picked up).

G21 is a whole different boat than a G23 to set up.
Lead #500. 150 in each rear locker, 200 under observer seat
fill rear ballast but 3/4 on opposite wave side and full on wave side.
          nss 1 ncrs 3-4
front empty with 3-4 people in the boat. Fill as needed to clean up the wave.
          11.3
Ive messed with this alot and found this to be the best so far.
          Have fun!
