Barefoot Boom

I am looking for a barefoot boom to fit a 1984 Ski Nautique 2001. My boat has the eye on the top of the pylon and the pylon tapers at the top. Anybody know who sells a boom that fits this boat? Does anybody have an old boom to sell that fits this boat? I am wanting to use a boom to teach my little boy (6) to wakeboard. Thank you.

The Barefoot international Boom should fit your boat. I had an '81 Barefoot Nautique with the Eye on top of the pylon, and that is what I used on mine. Be sure to get the height adjuster. It will be well worth the money in the long run! I think that B.I. make the best ( and safest) barefoot boom on the market, in my own opinion. Yellow_Flash_Colorz:

I second the BI boom. I've got the straight one on my '78 nautique. I got mine on eBay. Bart's, overtons, barefoot central, and many other places sell them. Best investment for teaching the kids (and the wife)!
There are "straight" and "contoured" booms from barefoot International. If your '84 2001 has a stock pylon and windshield, you will need the straight boom. Can't comment on the height adjuster, as I'm fine without it.
Again, well worth the $450-$500 (new).
Good luck finding a used one, though. It will be tough. I got lucky and got mine from a guy that bought a v-drive, so the straight one wouldn't work anymore for him. No one else gets rid of theirs because it is such a great teaching tool and it will last practically forever.

Boom

Thanks guys. I talked to Mike Seipel at Barefoot International and he also said that I should get the straight boom. As far as height adjustment goes Mike said it is easy to just move people around in the boat to adjust the height. I thought that the boom should be perpendicular when in use, but Mike said no that it should be aimed forward just a little when in use.
