Protecting dark gelcoat from rope scratch

Hi everyone, I recently purchased a 200OB that is admiral blue, love the color, however, the sides and back deck really show the scratches from rope rub... I can buff it out but was thinking about getting a paint protect shield installed like I did on my cars. I have been using the clear shield on my vehicles for many years and it holds up great (even sitting outside year after year0...I can have the local guy who did my cars custom make a kit for my 200.. Has anyone tried something like this? It’s made to withstand the elements, so it should work fine and keep the gelcoat scratches away... Last boat (97 SNOB) was white deck so never noticed it... the dark colors look great but show everything... Thanks

Sure, I've seen plenty of boats that were wrapped. Sometimes the whole boat, sometimes just additional graphics or lettering. You could just get those areas protected with a clear and that would probably do it.
